"How do I mark the "Additional Insured" boxes on the Certificate of Liability?"



In Nowcerts, we store all certificate holders at the agency level. So, if a certificate holder has requested certificates of insurance for ten of your insureds, there will only be one Certificate Holder record in the "Contacts" --> "Certificate Holders" list.


So, what if a holder requests to be an additional insured (AI)? Well, that relationship is only applicable to that insured and their policies. Hence, we have to define that in the system.




There are 3 elements that need to be in place for the certificate of insurance to display the proper markings:

 

1. The Master Certificate needs to have the policies linked to it


2. The Holder needs to be added as an "Additional Interest" for the insureds


3. The nature of that Additional Interest needs to be defined
